More IN Skin Care Feedback

Hi Becky,
a couple of weeks ago you gave me samples of the IN face products; cleanser, serum, cream, and toner. They are great. Left my face very soft and clean feeling. Not greasy at all and I didn't break out! The fragrance is a bit different but not so strong that I couldn't use them. Can you remind me when I should use the serum? I would certainly recommend these products.

INtelligent Nutrients Skincare Feedback

My guinea pigs (product whores) are already giving me their two-cents on the not-yet-released IN Skincare line.

If you would like to try it, please stop into the storefront and pick up some samples.

Jill (37) says - "LOVE THE SAMPLES YOU GAVE ME. They're amazing. Let me know when they come in - this is going to be my new routine! Thank you."
Jill currently uses Proactive and other professional skincare.

Tiffani (mid 30's) says - "I LOVE the Intelligent products - they are amazing!!! Let me know when they come in, I am with Jill - this is my new skin care. "
Tiffani currently uses professional skincare.

Bailey (13 almost 14) - my son, likes the cleanser, toner and moisturizer. He's 13 so he doesn't need the serum.
He likes the Cleanser because it smells like baby wipes. Yup. I've never known baby wipes to contain geranium, ylang ylang, lavendar, bergamot and chamomile. He loves it because of how it smells.

He likes the Mist (toner) because it smells like "bubble gum". Yup. Again, I've never had bubble gum with neroli, everlasting, carrot, ylang-ylang and bergamot, but what do I know, I'm just the mom.

I must confess, Bailey has perfect skin - Hey, it's my job, he BETTER have beautiful skin! - Even folks/kids with perfect skin need great skincare.
Bailey currently uses Vie Collection Cleansing Cream - only the best for my men! :o)

Remember the Horst mantra - Everything that we put in and on our bodies must be nutritious and safe."
This is skincare that is good for you, not just your skin.

I'll post my feedback and others' as they come in, in a later post.

The United States Postal Service

Seriously, WHAT is going on with the Postal Service?!

Aren't they one of the GIANTS that is having financial difficulty?
They want another day off (fine with me) and stamps are going up again soon (again, fine with me). Do whatever you need to make your company viable.
But, how about you work on your CUSTOMER SERVICE, USPS?! Do you think that has ANYTHING to do with your problem?
Trust me, the second major problem in business, right next to corporate brass that is robbing corporate America dry, is subpar customer service.

I have been in the e-commerce business for about 8 years. I use the USPS to keep shipping costs down for myself and my customers. Occasionally, I use UPS and FedEx, when my clients request them.
I really wish UPS and FedEx would be more economical for small businesses as I would use them for everything. I just love them. I know, it should be just that simple.

I do not want my postal carrier to tell me, "Just junk mail today." or "Just bills today".
WHAT!?! I don't want you paying such close attention to my mail, it's creepy.
And, I don't want to know what is going on with every business and resident in my neighborhood.
I'm a hairdresser, that is the job of my clients to fill me in on all of the gossip. They pay good money for that right. Don't rain on their parade.

This morning I went to the Eagan post office (not my usual post office, but I was in that neighborhood). The parcels (I like the word 'parcel', today) I was mailing were going overseas, so a customs form is filled out and the contents of the parcel must be listed on the form.
I listed "facial moisturizer" as the contents of one of the boxes.
I kid you not, she asked me if it was Mary Kay moisturizer!? Ummmm no - MK did make a great water-proof brown mascara that I used as a brow grooming product, but they don't make it anymore. Pity.

I just stood there and looked at her and wondered if all of the postal workers that have gone "postal" over the years were really the employees of the USPS or customers, such as myself.

One last thing USPS, I have a parcel that I mailed on the 23rd of February. It is now March 12th and it still has not arrived in Atlanta and Natasha is pissed.
I paid for your Track and Confirm service. How about you TRACK my package and tell me and Nathasha, who has not received it, where it is? Please, I beg you.

Customer Service. It's simple. Some businesses have it. All THINK they have it.

Himalayan Bath Bar

This is a curious product, the Himalayan Salt Bar.

It's very similar to that rock salt deodorant that you can buy at many stores, but these have been refined into a smooth bar, to be used in the bath/shower.

There is a lot of research that states that our blood and the sea have a lot of similarities - not sure how that is relevant to what I am posting, but I thought you may want to know.

Maybe it is a chemical reaction of some sort, thus the reason for it neutralizing body odor in some people? Let's move on.

Many tout this bar for use on the face and to use all over the body as an exfoliant. You could use it on your face, but it may be a bit harsh for some/most. It would certainly help remedy facial acne. But again, it may be a bit harsh, so be careful. Be certain to use a moisturizer when you are finished, if you are going to use on your face. Also, it may not be for everyday use.

Why do I think this bar is pretty special?

It works really well on back, shoulder and chest acne. It certainly isn't a cure-all, you need to address what is causing the acne in the first place, but in the meantime, this magical little bar will certainly help.

I would use it with a body brush. Body brush first, then use the bar. There may be some stinging since it is salt.

Your skin will be very soft afterward, much like after swimming in the ocean.

No-Scream Cream

The name says it all. Finally! A numbing cream that really works.

Apply it about 30 minutes before your appointment. Work great for underarms as well.
I do not recommend it for facial waxing - Come on, you're a big girl, you can handle a little facial waxing.

Essie Nailcare Products

I'm not a big fan of Essie lacquer's or their nail treatments (lots of folks are, I just am not), but I do love these two must-haves.

The Nail Correction Pen - because no matter how hard we try to clean up our boo boos, we just can't get it done with a tissue and bottle of polish remover like we can this "pen".

And this product.........where have you been all of my life, White Bright!?

All of those years doing haircolor without wearing gloves and having black fingernails, Oy! All of the embarrassment I could have saved myself.

Better late than never.

Hair and Diabetes

A couple of items taken from an article called, Shocking Diabetes Indicators.

Eyebrow ColorHave your brows stayed dark while the rest of your hair has turned gray? You may want to get a fasting-glucose test from your doctor. A German study of 100 men between the ages of 50 and 70 with graying hair found that 76 percent of the men with dark brows had diabetes, compared to 18 percent of the gray-browed men. The theory is that diabetes may inhibit the graying process in eyebrow hair.

Hair Loss
Something else diabetics with atherosclerosis may notice is a loss of hair or thinning hair. When there is a thickening of blood vessel walls the blood vessels narrow. This can occur in blood vessels all over your body, including your skin. Narrow blood vessels mean less oxygen, which causes symptoms like hair loss as well as shiny skin and thickened skin. Hair loss is not limited to any one specific area of the body. With circulatory impairment in your legs, you could often see hair loss on your legs say experts.
