*For those interested – Fairview Southdale Breast Center offers 3D mammograms. 3D mammograms have been shown to have an improved rate of cancer detection and a decreased rate of recalls for diagnostic imaging. The technology is especially useful for women with dense breasts. 2D mammograms remain an effective screening test for all women. If you’re interested in having a 3D mammogram you may want to check with your insurance provider about coverage as there can be an additional out-of-pocket cost.
