Jojoba Oil vs. Cyclopentisiloxane

smooth and healthyExcerpt from the latest Greenbody Greenplanet newsletter.

You can pick up just about any hair, skin or body care product lately and

find the ingredient Cyclopentisiloxane lurking within. Sadly, this common ingredient is not only present in traditional (chemical laden) products, but it's also present in those that claim to be more "natural, organic and toxin free". It is extremely popular as a skin emollient used to smooth and fill in wrinkles and fine lines and now its allure has impressed the hair industry.

Cyclopentisiloxane smoothes the hair, just as it does the skin, and imparts the shine and silkiness that is so coveted today. You can find it in your shampoo, conditioner, gels, serums, straighteners, balms and even hairsprays. Cyclopentisiloxane, and it's derivatives, has been flagged for further attention by the Canadian Environmental Protection Agency (CEPA) and the European Union (EU) for it's suspected aquatic toxicity, persistence and bioaccumulation. (Canadian Government Proposes 11 Toxic full article here.)

Greenbody Greenplanet products use Organic Jojoba Oil to accomplish the same results, finding no need to include this questionable chemical in their line-up. Jojoba Oil is the extract of the seeds of the Jojoba plant and is beneficial for all types of hair due to it's natural sebum balancing capabilities. Their gentle blend uses just the right amount of Organic Jojoba Oil to give your hair that silky, shiny, healthy look we're all after.

If you haven't tried Greenbody Greenplanet and seen the results we're describing, you're missing out! If you are a current user of their products, you can feel better knowing their products biodegrade within 24 hours and leave no impact on our precious aquatic life.
